MIAMI, Fla. - The Lady Falcons defeated the Florida National Conquistadors 5-1 in their last match of the season.
Junior Marta Cuenca scored the first goal of the match in the 19th minute to put the Falcons on the board first. Both teams went scoreless the rest of the first half and then came out of halftime ready to fight for the win. Conquistador Mickaela Calisto assisted Johanna Andersson on Florida National's sole goal of the match to tie the game 1-1 in the 56th minute.
Florida College continued their scoring streak in the second half and saw two goals from Angie Sciacca, and one goal apiece from Alexis Lamprell and Claribel Hernandez to close out the game 5-1.
The Lady Falcons finished out their season with a 3-9-4 overall record and 2-1-1 conference record.
Goalkeeper Jillian Francis was named the Continental Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for posting 3 saves in the first 45 minutes of the match against Florida National. Sciacca was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals against the Conquistadors, with all shots on goal.
