Lady Falcons Sweep Florida National
TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The Lady Falcons were victorious over the Florida National University Conquistadors in three straight sets, 25-12, 25-16, and 25-11.
The Lady Falcons returned home looking to keep their record in Conn Gymnasium perfect as they face off with the Conquistadors, hoping to extend their winning streak to seven games. Florida College stormed out of the gates in this first set stunning Florida National winning 25-12 and scoring 13 kills in this set.
In the second set, the Lady Falcons controlled the game only committing three hitting errors and limiting the Conquistadors to a .043 hitting percentage. There were 87 total attempts in this set with the Lady Falcons converting 12 of their 40 and held the Conquistadors to eight kills on 47 attempts. This domination resulted in another set win for Florida College 25-16.
Complete control is the only way to describe the Lady Falcons third set. They converted 12 kills on 30 attempts hitting for a percentage of .367, the best conversion rate of all three sets. Furthermore, the Lady Falcons stifled the Conquistadors attack at the net resulting in a -.056 hitting percentage in the third set. The stats did not lie in the third set as Florida College would win the third and final set 25-11 and take the match extending their winning streak to seven games.
