Lady Falcons Dominate at Ave Maria

AVE MARIA, Fla. - Florida College swept the Ave Maria Gyrenes 3-0 on Monday night. 

Three Lady Falcons saw double figures in the three set match against the Gyrenes, defeating Ave Maria 27-25, 25-23, and 25-20. Carolina Ramalheira and Adriana Bravo both tallied 12 kills alongside Raquel Teixeira who had 11. Ramalheira led the Lady Falcons with a .455 hitting percentage and only had two errors on her 22 attempts. 

Setter Madison Lee once again posted more assists than the opposition and added 33 to the stat sheet compared to the Gyrene's 31 as a team. Defensively, Florida College worked together as a unit to secure their 16th win of the season, with Bravo and Avery Lanning both seeing double digits in digs, trailed closely by Lee, Teixeira and Addeson Coffey, who added 24 digs together.

"This was a great win for us. The girls are continuing to improve week after week and push each other to be the best they can be," said head coach Kerri Mitchell. "Adri, Raquel, and Carolina were able to keep our offense strong as they swung aggressively on the ball all throughout the three sets."

The Lady Falcons host the Tigers of Trinity College on October 19 at 7pm.
