
Lady Falcons Sweep Edward Waters
TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - The Florida College volleyball team defeated the Edward Waters University Tigers in three sets on Tuesday.
The Lady Falcons started out hot against the Tigers and defeated them 25-13 in the first set. Florida College flaunted a .577 hitting percentage and only had one error on 26 attack attempts. Edward Waters closed the gap in the second set, but fell short 23-25. The Falcons tallied nine attack errors on 47 attempts and only posted 13 kills compared to their 16 kills in the first set. Florida College secured the three-set win with a final set score of 25-19. The Lady Falcons posted 16 kills on 31 attempts for a .290 hitting percentage.
Adriana Bravo and Cassidy Lee led Florida College offensively, with Bravo adding 16 kills and Lee adding 10. Lee had a stellar .643 hitting percentage and was followed by Bravo who had .406. Madison Lee chipped in 41 of the 44 assists that the Falcons had together.
"I am proud of our captains, Adri, Leah and Avery for setting the tone for the girls. Their leadership has been imperative for our team chemistry," added head coach Kerri Mitchell.
This win puts the Lady Falcons at a 13-9 overall record.
