New College Defeats Lady Falcons

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The Florida College Women's Soccer team was defeated by the New College of Florida Banyans 7-1.

The Banyans started the game out hot as they scored to go up in the second minute. There would be a lull in the goal scoring till the 24th and 27th minute when the Bayans would go up 3-0 in just the first half. The Lady Falcons were able to close down the rest of the half and go into halftime down just 3-0.

The second half opened with the Banyans scoring in the 62nd minute putting them up 4-0 just past the 15-minute mark in the half. However, the Lady Falcons refused to be shut out and Claribel Hernandez scored on an assist from Shannen Cheney in the 64th minute making it 4-1. New College of Florida's Sofia Hernandez Cruz would go on to complete her hattrick in the 64th minute making it 5-1. The Banyans would go on to tally two more goals resulting in a 7-1 victory for the Banyans.
