DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The men's and women's cross country teams competed at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University this past weekend.

The men's team placed ninth of 14 teams and were led by freshman Easton Dial, who placed 16th overall with an 8k time of 29:09.56. Sophomores Josiah DeGeneffe and Steven Ritchie came in 50th and 52nd place followed by Gustav Looper and Jack Bradford in 72nd and 75th place.

The women's team placed sixth of nine teams and were led by sophomore Sophia Raif. Raif finished in 38th place with a 5k time of 23:45.88 and was followed closely behind by Whitney Mathis in 41st, Morgan Brake in 42nd, Sierra Griffith in 43rd, and Katherine Raif in 45th.

"All of our women and all but two of our men ran faster than our first meet two weeks ago, many of them by close to a minute or more, so you have to be happy with that. It's good to have Jack Bradford back, although he will take some time to get back in shape. Easton Dial continued to have a strong freshman season, placing in the top 20 out of over 100 runners," said head coach Trenton Roth. "We run a much faster course in two weeks, and expect to see big improvements then, but I am happy with our progress and how hard they are working."

The Legends will compete next at the Florida State Seminoles Cross Country Invitational on September 29 at 7:45am. The race will take place at the Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
