Falcons Take Down Talladega

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. - Florida College defeated Talladega College 1-0 on Saturday night.

The Falcons and Tornadoes played a hard fought and foul heavy match on Qualls Field, but ultimately came out on top, defeating Talladega 1-0. Jhon Solis scored the Falcons' lone match of the night in the 80th minute, assisted by Yorgen Torres

Talladega attempted 16 total shots, but were unable to put the ball into back of the net. The Falcons attempted 10 shots with four on goal to take the win. Goalkeeper Markus Sundin posted 6 saves to shutout the Tornadoes in the 90 minute match.

"Talladega is a great team who has some high level individuals and team qualities that have helped them beat a high ranked team in our conference, so we knew we had to be aware of what they can do. Everyone rose to the occasion and we were able to limit them to half chances and stop them from doing what they do best," said head coach David Ashwood. "When our opportunities came, we weren't able to take advantage at first, but we stuck to the task and in the end were able to finally punish them and get the result we deserved and needed."
