Broyles Leads Falcons in Indiana
NOBLESVILLE, Ind. - The Florida College Falcons competed in the Purgatory Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Taylor University this past weekend.
The Falcons placed a team best ninth place out of 11 teams and were led by sophomore Logan Broyles, who placed 12th overall with a score of 152 (+8).
"The Purgatory Golf Course held true to its name, being cold and windy, with a little rain and temperatures in the low 40s. We had a great experience playing in the north and overcoming bad weather that we aren't accustomed to," said head coach Wilson Wickerham. "The best finish in the standings by our team was a big step for our men."
Senior Tyler Earnhart tied for 36th place and finished with a total score of 161 (+17), followed by Daniel Berkley (T57), Tucker Hinely (T59), and Josiah Dieman (T59).
"Through tough conditions our guys showed this week that we can compete with these other teams at a high level. I think this week gets the ball rolling and the team will ride this momentum through our next couple tournaments and into conference," said Earnhart.
The Falcons will compete next at Battle for the Bay, hosted by Cumberlands University, in Harrison, Tenn. April 15-16. Go Falcons!
