Florida College Falcons win Continental Athletic Conference Championship

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The No. 19 Florida College Falcons defeated the Washington Adventist University Shock 74-60 for their second conference championship in three years.

The Falcons made this one much closer than the previous two games of the tournament, trailing by one point at the half after missing several good looks close to the rim during the first twenty minutes.

The second half saw the Falcons take the reins immediately, grabbing the lead five minutes in and never looking back. A Drew Kramer 3-pointer from Bryan Bayonne gave the Falcons a 13-point lead with just under 2-minutes remaining to ice the game.

The Falcons were led in scoring by junior guard Bryan Bayonne, who put up 16 points off the bench. Drew Kramer chipped in 13 points, while Cam Selders added 11 points and 6 rebounds.

FC defeated Washington Adventist in the championship back in 2022 as well. Both teams will advance to the NAIA National Tournament on March 15.

"I'm so proud of our players and coaches," said Head Coach Chase Teichmann. "They deserve this moment. We recruited a lot of these guys and told them this was the expectation. By doing so, I almost felt responsible that we had to deliver, to give them this moment. They earned it on their own."

The Falcons head to their third consecutive national tournament, currently ranked no. 19 in the Coaches' Top-25 Poll with a record of 27-4. They'll find out their seed and matchup for the NAIA National Tournament on Thursday night, March 7 at 7 PM ET via the NAIA YouTube channel. Go Falcons!
