Banyons Defeat Florida College

TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. – The Florida College Women's Soccer team was defeated by the New College of Florida Banyans 6-0.

The Banyans stormed out of the gate in this match, firing three shots on goal in the first 10 minutes. They would continue piling on the pressure mounting 15 total shots in the first 45 minutes, but the Lady Falcons were not deterred. Florida College would fire off three shots on goal before and four total in the half. Despite the high number of attempts and constant attack of the New College of Florida they managed just one goal off the foot of Flori Sofia Hernandez Cruz in the 39th minute. After an action packed first half, the first 45 minutes ended just 1-0 to the Banyans.

In the second half, the Banyans' relentless effort finally paid off in a big way. The Bayans totaled 33 shots with 21 of those shots on goal. Through those 21 shots on goal Florida College keeper Hannah Collett saved 15 of those shots. However, despite a strong first half performance, the Bayans scored five goals in the second half and ran away and hid with the game coming to a close with a 6-0 win for the Banyans.
